Thirty Seconds to Mars

Do you recognize this symbol?

You may have seen this symbol in many places including empty fields, driveways, on trees, on cupcakes, on walls and in front of landmarks all around the world following the Triad Global Assault. It may have come in the form of masking tape, posters, chalk, human beings and candles burning in the dark. The question is, how did they get there and what were they doing there?
The triad is a symbol used by the band Thirty Seconds to Mars and their latest mission, for their die-hard fans around the world called the Echelon, was to put the triad symbol on anything, anywhere while being creative. This mission produced great results and you can find fan photos of the symbol on the Flickr: Triad Global Assault Page.
The band was started in 1998 by the two brothers Jared Leto (vocals and rhythm guitar) and Shannon Leto (epic awesome drums). Later, they auditioned Tomo Miličević as their lead guitarist. Some fun facts about them include:
- Jared Leto is also a Hollywood star but refuses to play at venues that use his name to advertise the show.
- They got their band name from a Harvard professor's paper which said that the world was advancing so quickly that we are now literally 30 seconds away from Mars.
- Recently, 30 Seconds to Mars released a 13-minute music video for Hurricane (Uncensored, 18+ only please)
Without further ado, here are the photos taken at the show by Thirty Seconds to Mars on September 22nd, 2010 in Vancouver!
